I’m not the only one going to Italy this year, I have two sets of clients headed there as well.
While one group is going on a cruise, the other is taking a land tour. Unfortunately (or fortunately) neither are covering the same areas, we’ll be visiting: Naples, Rome, Padua, Venice, Florence and Milan. That means I have a whole new wealth of Italy knowledge brewing around, from hotels to shore excursions.
In Rome, we’ll be staying at the Hotel Eden, which a Starwood Le Meridien property. The hotel has been “transformed” by LM100, which is an creative group enhancing your stay through art. Hisham Bharoocha, Sam Samore and Yan Lei have each created a unique keycard collection and are working to turn Le Meridien hotels into “creative hubs.” Now, what that exactly means is rather vague, I’m looking forward to finding our first hand (and reporting back). When hotels incorporate art, they rarely do so in a way that is interactive. Whatever it turns out to be, I’m positive it will be better than a landscape nailed to the wall above the bed. Check out the LM100 podcasts to get an idea of the artists involved.
