Team Challenge

Once again, I’m running the Las Vegas Rock n Roll Marathon with Team Challenge.

Team Challenge is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s endurance training and fundraising program. Through Team Challenge, I will be run/walk/run/walking 13.1 miles while helping to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic and often debilitating digestive diseases that impact 1.4 million Americans.

Last year I raised over $8,000 for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. This year I want to beat that!

The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA has remained at the forefront of research in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.  The organization sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. CCFA support services are delivered through local chapters which offer more than 300 support groups annually, Camp Oasis (a summer camps for children living with IBD) and a wide range of educational and training programs for communities nationwide.

Why am I training, running and fundraising for Team Challenge?

My mother was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis a few years ago, so last year this was all for her. Through my fundraising, I discovered that several of my friends also suffer from Crohn’s, Colitis or some type of IBD. While my main inspiration is still my mother, I am running for all of my friends and every single amazing person I meet through Team Challenge who is living with IBD and running those 13.1 miles alongside me.
